Mildred Ann Otradovec, 79, passed away in Springfield, MO at Woodland Manor on March 17, 2013.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen Kroutil; husband John J. Otradovec; and her second husband, George Hackett. Mildred is survived by her sisters, Josephine Villavicencio of Kansas City, MO and Mary Frances Kroutil of Springfield; her two sons, Ron Otradovec and his wife Brenda, and Mark Otradovec and his wife Patti; her four grandchildren, Shelly Anderson and fiancé Gary Sorrells, Jennifer Comstock and husband Don, Adam Otradovec and wife Ashley, and Bryan Otradovec and wife Shannon; and six great-grandchildren, Sam, Olivia, Peyton, Emma, Alison, and Noah.
Mildred attended Wilson Elementary in Polk County and Pleasant Hope High School where she was crowned Senior Class Queen. Two years later, in1953, she married John Otradovec at the Karlin Catholic Church near Bolivar where they owned a farm until 1968. Mildred and John were married for 33 years until his death in 1985. Two years later she was married to George Hackett until his death in 1990. Mildred has been employed as a farm owner, waitress, bookkeeper, secretary, and last as a housekeeper at St. John’s for 19 years when she retired after shoulder surgery. Prior to her move to Woodland Manor, Mildred had fun traveling, shopping, church activities, volunteering at the Salvation Army and family events. Her greatest enjoyment was any moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1609 N, Summit, Springfield, with the Reverend Hector Navalo, C.M.F. officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home following the visitation.
