Mildred Elisa Lawson was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. She was married to Earl Steven Lawson, on Nov. 18, 1950. They had three children, Edie Boatright (Ken), Steve Lawson, Laurie Willis (Skip). Mildred also had a step-daughter Karyn House (Don); six grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.

Mildred was a foster parent to 34 children. She retired from Evangel College, but not from service. She delivered Meals on Wheels to shut-ins for several years. Mildred was active in her church, Hamlin Baptist, especially the WMU, Shoe Box Ministry, and shut-in program. She loved her Lord, her family and friends. She delighted in children, music, and life in general.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Earl, her son; Steve, her parents, four brothers, and her dear sister, Lois. She touched many untold lives and will be truly missed, until we are reunited again in Heaven.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Greenlawn Funberal Home North. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2012, in the funeral home.
