Mildred Mae Brinkley Nicholson, age 92, arrived in heaven on September 6, 2015 after a short illness. She was born in Strong City, Oklahoma to John and Maggie Brinkley. She taught Business at Southwestern Assemblies of God College and Evangel College (now University) for many years. She was a member of Evangel Ladies Auxiliary and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a seamstress, and made many garments, including 10 wedding gowns. Millie, as she was often called, was an excellent cook, making homemade breads, jams and canned garden vegetables. She had the gift of hospitality, opening her home to many family and friends over the years, sometimes housing them during college years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always investing in her family. She was a long-time member of Central Assembly of God. Mildred was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Maynard, and her husband, Virgil of 68 years. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Marilyn and Tonny Wolfe, and Judy and Wayne Werner, Son-in-law Mark Maynard, 8 grandchildren and spouses, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Central Assembly of God, Springfield, MO on September 10, 2015 at 2:30 PM. Committal services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3506 N.
