Mildred Whitaker, 104, passed away at the Manor at Elfindale on August 22, 2011. She was born in Forsyth, Missouri, on September 28, 1906. She was the widow of Rollia Whitaker, together they ran a successful truck rental business in Ypsilanti, Michigan, until 1961. She relocated to Springfield after the death of her husband to be with her mother and dad, Tone and Alma Thurman.
She is survived by her only nephew, Charles Baughman and wife Kim, St. Augustine, Fl, Charles’ children, Charles Thomas Baughman, Mary Ann Bittner, J. Ross Baughman and Jackie Parker. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
