Minnie Eva Black, 72, passed away Feb. 1, 2015 in her sleep. She was born May 27, 1942 in Willow Springs, MO. to William Davis and Elsie Clinton Davis.
Eva, as she was known by her family and friends, attended Willow Springs High School and Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. She married Russell Black Dec. 1, 1963 and to this union a son, Jeffrey Black, was born. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandma. She taught Sunday school at First Freewill Baptist Church in Springfield since 1966. She and Russell owned and operated Town and Country RV at 3250 West Sunshine since 1970.
Eva and Russell just recently retired and were building their dream home in Crane, MO. Her blue eyes sparkled anytime she spoke of her son and grandchildren, William and Carissa. She loved Christmas, decorating and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and always had the perfect nutritional menu thought out. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and was owner of a spoiled eclectus parrot and cockatiel.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, William & Elsie Davis and her beloved sister Maddie Cox of Willow Springs. Eva is survived by her husband of 52 years, Russell Black Springfield, MO, her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Cindy Black, her grandchildren William and Carissa of Crane, and several nieces and nephews. Also, her beloved eclectus parrot, Oggy who called her grandma too. Eva was the glue that held the family together and will be much missed until we meet again in Heaven.
