Monte Yates 50, Springfield, died May 18 in his home. Monte was a talented craftsman who enjoyed working in his own custom cabinet shop. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He is survived by his best friend Diana Yates, their son Joe, and his mother Janice Yates Haney. He’s preceded in death by his father, Paul Yates and his brother Rick Yates.
A memorial visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30, Monday, May 21, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will be at a later date. The family suggests donations be made to the National Brain Tumor Society or American Cancer society in lieu of flowers.
