Morris Wayne Miller, 80, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away April 24, 2026, at Cox South after a long and courageous battle with health issues. Morris Wayne Miller, 80, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away April 24, 2026, at Cox South after a long and courageous battle with health issues. Morris was born February 22, 1946, in Thayer, Missouri, to Monroe and Florence (Hyde) Miller.
He graduated in 1964 from Thayer High School, where he participated in many sports activities. In 1965 Morris married Sharon Roethemeier. He continued his interest in sports for the rest of his life, especially enjoying golf and bowling. Morris and his wife, Sharon, owned thoroughbred racehorses and loved watching them race.
Morris is survived by his wife, Sharon Miller; daughter, Michele Cobbett and her husband, Ernie; two granddaughters, Gabby Hines and her husband, Thomas, and Danielle Cobbett and partner, Kenzie Wilson; two sisters, Jan Loganbill, and Glenda Mahan; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evalyn Ament; and brothers, Gene, Bert, Tom, and Bob Miller.
Morris will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
