Jimmie E. McGee left the world for a better place on January 8, 2021. He was 85 years old.
He was born to Arvel E. McGee and Opal McMullin-McGee on June 11, 1935, in Springfield, Missouri. In 1953, he married Donna K. Roepke and they made their lifelong home in Strafford, Missouri. To that union two children were born, Richard E. McGee and Kristie L. (McGee) Miller. Jim was employed by the Gospel Publishing House for 35 years as foreman of the Bindery. After retiring from Gospel Publishing House in 1989, he started his dream job as a salesman at Pinegar Chevrolet and later Marshfield Motors. He was also a lifelong farmer of Angus cattle. Jim was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Nascar racing.
Jim is survived by his wife, Donna, of 67 years. His son Richard and wife Joyce of West Plains, MO. Daughter Kristie and husband Rocky of Strafford, MO. Three grandchildren, Ryan Miller and wife Carrie of Rogersville, MO; Jessica Culella and husband Charlie of St. Louis, MO; and Adam Miller and wife Brittanie of Branson, MO. Great-grandchildren Sawyer and Oliver Culella and another expected in July of 2021. Jim is also survived by many family members and friends, many of whom attended church with him at Crossway Church.
People always said that Jim was undoubtedly the most kind and patient man they’ve known. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, at Dishman Cemetery.
