Muriel Christine Kendrick, 71, left this earth for her heavenly home Saturday, April 23, 2016. “Chris” as she was affectionately called was born to Marion and Irving Kendrick in Needham, Massachusetts on November 1, 1944. As a child, Chris learned to use her talents in church. An accomplished musician, she played the piano, organ and accordion. Chris spent her educational years at Southwestern Assemblies of God in Waxahachie, Texas and later attended Long Island Bible Institute in Long Island, New York. Chris spent many years traveling in ministry as the lead organist with Evangelist Quentin Edwards and various other ministries. Her musical talents led to several albums and as a published songwriter throughout the years. Benny Hinn hired Chris when he decided to launch his United States evangelistic ministry located in Orlando, Florida. Despite her own accomplishments in ministry, and they were numerous, her greatest achievement was raising three sons who followed in her footsteps into full-time ministry. Most recently, Chris served as the Creative Consultant and Set Designer for the Kevin Shorey Show.
Chris enjoyed hosting friends and family at her home in Reeds Spring, Missouri where she resided for the last ten years. Her other passions included her pets, Coco, Elle and Fluffy, painting, interior design and spending time with her family playing card games.
Chris is survived by her three sons; Kevin Shorey and his wife Cindy, of Walnut Shade, Missouri, Stephen Shorey, and Pastor Mark Shorey and his wife Kari, of Chickasha, Oklahoma and seven grandchildren she adored who affectionately called her “Gaga.” Chris is also survived by her two brothers: Bruce Kendrick of DeBary, Florida and Robert Kendrick of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016, at 1:00 pm at The Sanctuary of Hope located at 1790 Bee Creek Road, Branson, Missouri 65616. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Shorey and Pastor Kevin Shorey. In lieu of flowers, a tax deductible memorial gift can be made in honor of Chris through www.kevinshorey.com
