Muriel Peele, born May 27, 1919 in Christian County, Mo., the daughter of James Orville “Bob” Wheeler and Katie Pearl (Glenn) Wheeler. The family moved to Springfield where she grew up and graduated from Central High School. July 13, 1940, she married Donald W. Peele and they had two daughters, Donna Sue and Patricia Ann.
Muriel was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Sue who passed away at a young age; her husband; parents; five brothers, Bonnie, Allen, William, Glenn, and Carl; two sisters, Lois Melton and Mae Stevenson.
Survivors are: daughter, Patricia and husband David Welker; three granddaughters, Sherry and husband Jose Corea, Shauna Shope, and Summer Crisp; four great-grandsons, Jeremiah, Bailey, Jaykob, and Jose; also one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 21 in Eastlawn Cemetery.
