Myles E. Sullivan, age 87, of Springfield, passed away September 19, 2013.
He was born October 28, 1925 in Flippin, AR. to parents Tony M. Sullivan and
Adda A. McCracken.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hortense (Parker) Sullivan of the home;
one daughter Pam Sullivan; and one granddaughter Lisa Vest, all of Springfield, MO.
Myles was preceeded in death by his father, mother, and step-father Joe McCracken.
Myles served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, where
he was aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Kalinin Bay during the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
Myles was employed with the (Frisco) Burlington Northern Railroad as a
train dispatcher with 39 years of service.
After retirement Myles enjoyed his lake home, fishing, gardening, his workshop,
and most of all being with his family.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2013
in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with a 2:00pm chapel service and graveside service to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, with full military honors.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donation be made to
National Avenue Christian Church.
