Myrna Rae Carpenter (Ne Haldaman) entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, December 5th.
Myrna was born March 26, 1939 in Chester, Oklahoma to Milton Tyler Haldaman and Nelly Evelyn (Crowner) Haldaman. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a sister, Verla Severne and a brother Milton Earl Haldaman.
Myrna graduated from Seiling High School in Seiling, Oklahoma in 1957 and in the fall of that year enrolled in Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible School in Waxahachie, Texas. It was there she met her future husband, Harold R. Carpenter. The two were married August 17, 1958 and have spent sixty-two years together in ministry at home and abroad. Appointed as an Assemblies of God missionary in 1964 she held ministerial license with the Arkansas District Council of the Assemblies of God for the next 20 years. During twenty years of ministry in South America, Myrna held leadership roles: Sunday School, Children’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries and participated in ministerial training in Bible Institutes in Bolivia, French Guiana and Ecuador.
Myrna is survived by her husband, Harold R. Carpenter, five children, Michael Loren Carpenter and wife Lindi, Kevin Ray Carpenter and wife Luz Dary, Rhonda Rae O’Conner and husband Paul, Sheryl Fern Coats and husband Bruce, and Harold Richard Carpenter and wife Christina. She is surrounded by fourteen grandchildren: Brian O’Conner, JoAnna Scott, Brittany Wells, Rachel Cook, Ben Coats, Leah Vandiver, Lara Podesta, and Lacy, Justin, Kyle, Josiah, Samuel, Levi and Emily Carpenter. She is also blessed with 10 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Dale and Stephen Haldaman, and three sisters, Carol Steele, Leslie Chapman Gregory, and Lois Woods.
She has finished the course, she kept the faith, and is now resting in the presence of her Lord.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with a graveside to follow.
