Myrtle Jean White, 86 of Bolivar, MO, died March 16, 2010, in the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility, Bolivar. The daughter of Alpha O. and Julia (Bastion) Buckner, she was born September 6, 1923, in Adonis, MO. She married George L. White on July 4, 1953. They lived in Oregon until George’s death in 1956. She spent most of her life in Hickory and Polk counties except for the time her family worked in California.
Myrtle Jean is survived by her son Harlan Richey and his wife Debbie of Bolivar, MO; nine grandchildren and their spouses; 22 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; one sister Peggy Simpson of Bolivar, MO; one brother Max Buckner and his wife Betty of Pittsburg, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; a brother Junior Buckner; and three sisters: Irene Stephenson, Alice Turner, and Hazel Biggers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, March 19, 2010, in Payne Cemetery. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday, March 19, 2010, in the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. In lieu of plants and flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church Bolivar, c/o the funeral home.
