Myrtle Ruth Bishop Burks passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born June 25, 1927 in Springfield, MO the daughter of Roy and Etta (Jackson) Mann.
She was united in marriage to Robert Lee Bishop in 1946 and to this union 1 child was born, Teri Lynn, Robert preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Grant Burks in 1978 and was married to him until his death in 2011. She was saved and baptized at the Emmanuel Baptist Church at a young age. She had a big heart and loved helping others. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers: Guy, Paul, Ralph, Carl, Elmer, and Kenneth, and by one sister Juanita (Butch) Moore.
She is survived by her daughter: Teri Lynn Dimmitt and her husband Jeff of Willard, 6 grandchildren: Ryan Baxter and wife Ericka of Highlandville, MO, Jenny Becerril and husband Erik of Nixa, MO, Leslie Chainey and husband Chris, Jared Dimmitt, and Kyle Baxter all of Springfield, MO, and Kayla Dimmitt of Willard, 11 great grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law Delores Ziverk of Springfield, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 from 6-8 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be Sat, Nov. 2 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm.
