Myrtle Wanda Lee Chastain 88, Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 11:35 a.m. in Springfield Rehabilitation. Myrtle was born October 22, 1923 in Springfield, Mo. to Willis Alvin Jones and Artie Mary Jane (Hicks) Jones. She was of the Baptist faith.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Wayne Chastain, in 1974; her parents, Willis and Artie (Hicks) Jones; and a daughter, Wanda Lynn Chastain. She is survived by her daughter, Joleen Chastain, Springfield, Mo.; a son, William T. Chastain, Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter, Lisa Arnall Hill, Miller, Mo.; a great-grandson, Chance Brandon Cornell, Mt. Vernon, Mo.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Preston Vyze Cornell, Mt. Vernon, Mo. and Tabitha Marie Cornell, Mt. Vernon, Mo. . She is also survived by her two sisters, Lorene Davis, Kansas City, Mo. and Dorothy Roberts, Salem, Mo., as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Rev. Paul Coltharp officiating. Burial will follow, in Springfield National Cemetery. There is no visitation planned.
