With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the passing of Nancy Mobley, who departed this world on December 13, 2024, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on August 2, 1927, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Joseph and Fay (Butler) Hill. Nancy grew up in the state of Kansas, where she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived for a while in the state of California, where she and her husband Kenneth owned and operated Mobley’s Market for nearly 8 years. Nancy loved her family and especially doating on her children and her grandchildren. She also loved helping others when she could. She loved crocheting, reading books, and loved her jewelry. She enjoyed listening to country and bluegrass music, especially Hank Thompson music, Emma Lou Harris and Dolly Parton, and going to Casinos.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, of 67 years, and her parents. As a devoted mother, Nancy is survived by her beloved daughter, Kay Appleby. Their bond was a source of joy and strength, shining brightly through every chapter of Nancy’s life. Her warm spirit and nurturing heart will continue to inspire and uplift us. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Shane and Sean Appleby, five great-grandchildren: Lauren (Evan), Lindsey, Lydia, Hunter, and Taylor (Dalton), and two great-great grandchildren: Blakley and Castin.
As we remember Nancy, let us focus on the love she gave and the wonderful legacy she leaves behind. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with laughter, compassion, and resilience—qualities that will forever resonate within us. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the extraordinary life of Nancy Mobley.
Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in Memphis TN. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
