Naomi Cardwell, 76, of Miller, Mo., passed away Friday, July 22, 2011. She was born in Liberal, Mo. on December 13, 1934, to Willis Elroy and Dorothy (Short) Stout. Naomi married Wilford Cardwell on December 26, 1971. She was a founding member of Cardwell Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wilford; three brothers, Allen Vernon “Bud” Lee, Benjamin Chester “Chet” Lee, and Alfred Bertie Lee; three sisters, Betty Lou (Lee) Bettis, Lenore Belle Stout, and Ada Rosemary (Lee) Figg.
She is survived by four children, David Elroy Baxter of the home, Teresa Kay “Terrie” Ristau and husband Tim of Carl Junction, Mo., Brenda Gale Webster and husband John of Ava, Mo., LaRoss “Ross” Lee Baxter and wife Karen of Miller, Mo., 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Cardwell Chapel in Seymour, Mo. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 3:00 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
