Nellie Mary Marie (Bishop) Blair, 83 years old, passed away at Truman Health Center, in Lamar, MO. She was born in her home to parents, W.R. Bishop and Madge (Johnson) Bishop, on Christmas Day, December 25, 1929, in Sylvania, MO. She was the 4th of 7 children/ She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas L. Blair, 3 brothers: Robert D. Bishop, John M. Bishop and Jackie J. Bishop, 1 sister Fern (Bishop) Thomas and 1 granddaughter Angela D. (Pitts) Martin.
Survivors include 1 brother William D. Bishop, 1 sister Patricia A. (Bishop) Turner, 3 daughters: Linda and Ralph Pitts, Tammy and Bill Lack and Cindy Blair Connaway, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Nellie was very active and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and picking blackberries and gooseberries. She loved to go antiquing and treasure hunting. Nellie loved the Lord with all her heart, and probably never had a conversation the He was not mentioned in. She knew the Bible like the back of her hand and it gave her lots of enjoyment to share the Lords word with everyone she met.
For the last year and a half, her main goal has been to go home with her Heavenly Father, and on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 9:50 am, that goal was fulfilled.
