Nellie Thompson, passed away after battling a long-time illness on December 28, 2010. She was born on February 4, 1953, in Springfield, MO, to Ernest and Nellie Morelock.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Arthur, Lester, Dennis, and Denny Morelock.
She is survived by her husband Bill Thompson; a daughter and her husband Shannon and Clayton Boyer; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Jason and Shawnel Thompson; four grandchildren: Taylor and Shelby Boyer, and Chris and Tiffany Peck; four brothers: David, Marion, Arnold, and Boyd Morelock; and five sisters: Vonda Cover, Trellis Newman, Joyce Hemmerling, Carol Ebbrecht, and Carolyn Kern.
She wished to convey a special thank you to two people for always being there for her; her best friend since age 9, Debbie Price, who taught her how to crochet, which gave her many hours of enjoyment; and to Billy Joe Fitch, whom she always loved as if he were her brother. Her family would also like to say a special thank you to the Hospice Compassus, especially to Katie, Theresa, and Suzy; and to the Jordan Creek Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2010, at Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South
