Neta Maurice Parramore, a beloved chef and dedicated grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on August 12, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. Born in Goodson, Missouri, Neta was the cherished daughter of Mildred Ervin and grew up with a love for the beauty of life, which she expressed through her passion for gardening and her deep Christian faith.
Neta dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a chef for Springfield Public Schools, where she created countless memorable meals and made a lasting impact on her students. Her warm spirit and culinary talents extended to her family, as she was known for her delicious pecan and pumpkin pies, lovingly prepared for family gatherings.
A devoted mother, Neta leaves behind her daughter Janene Paramore and her son Loren Fittro, along with her daughter-in-law Anita Fittro. She also cherished her role as a grandmother to her five grandkids and 11 great-grandkids, including one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were the light of her life.
Neta’s love for life was reflected in her hobbies. She found joy in tending to her garden, cultivating vibrant flowers that mirrored her vibrant spirit. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her favorite television shows, including “The Voice,” “Survivor,” and “Dancing with the Stars,” where she could often be found dancing along from the comfort of her living room.
Neta’s kindness and unwavering faith touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
