Norma Jean Gerber Dear passed on to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, February 23, 2024 at the age of 88. Born in Dover, Ohio on May 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Bartholomew Gerber. She is survived by her husband the Rev. Paul L. Dear, daughter Debra Kay Dear of California, son Stephen Paul Dear of Texas, daughter-in-law Holli and granddaughter Kaitlin.
Norma was a musician, both vocal and a violinist. She served as a pastor’s wife in Assemblies of God churches in Ohio and then as a foreign missionary in the countries of Ireland and Belgium. In recent years she was involved at Global University in Springfield, Missouri, along with her husband Paul.
Norma’s family and church were of great importance to her. She was an active member of Evangel Temple in Springfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to Assemblies of God World Missions, 1445 N. Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802.
Visitation will take place at Evangel Temple, 2020 E. Battlefield on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with memorial service following at 11:00 a.m.
