Norma “Joyce” Fravel, 80, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Joyce was born on August 14, 1933 in Elijah, MO, to Benjamin and Edna Hardin. She married Eugene Evans and together they raised three children, Ben, Debbie, and Danny. After living in numerous places as a military wife, Joyce and her family settled down in Springfield, MO. In 1974, Eugene passed away. In 1992, she married Glen Fravel, the man who stood by her side until her passing.
Joyce was a kind, funny, and generous woman whose loving heart was felt by anyone fortunate enough to meet her. Joyce had a profound love for our Lord, Jesus Christ, and was a devout Christian. She also had an immense love of flowers, as was evident by her years as a Florist at Wickman’s Garden Village.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, and her daughter, Debbie. She is survived by her husband, Glen; her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Teresa Evans, of Hayward, CA; her son, Danny Evans, of Rogersville, MO; her sister, Del Carter, of Ozark, MO; her brother John “Joe” Hardin, of Caulfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Greenlawn South Funeral Home, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn South followed by graveside services at Clear Springs Cemetery in Tecumseh, MO, at approximately 1:00 pm.
Joyce was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
