Norma Lee (Boehme) Bass, age 79, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014, at Mercy Hospital. Norma Lee was born on October 20, 1934, in Strafford, MO. She graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1953. She married Norman Eugene Bass on July 18, 1953 in Fair Grove, MO. Norma Lee retired as a cook after 27 years of service from Fair Grove Schools, where she was known as MeMe. She was saved and baptized at a young age at Fair Grove First Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was attending Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Fair Grove. She was a member of the Fair Grove Historical Society. She enjoyed camping, sewing, cooking, her farm and her cows, being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and making snow cones at the Fair Grove Heritage Reunion Days Festival. Norma Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Eugene of 45 years, and her parents, Harry and Eunice Boehme, her In-laws, Hugh and Dorothy Bass, one sister, Betty Lou Boehme, two son-in-laws; Brian Kirby and Steven Gintz, and an infant grandson. Norma Lee is survived by five daughters; Marsha Rose and husband Dwayne, Christina Austin, twins; Linda Brooks and husband David, Brenda Rose and husband Dale, all of Fair Grove, and Bernice Clark and husband Craig of Mansfield, MO. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren who called her MeMe; Dennis, April, Bridget, Travis, Matthew, Wesley, Shelley, Holley, Stephanie, Hillary, Mindy, Kelby, Tim, Jeremy, Brandon, plus spouses; and 22 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Hazel Stewart and Doris Buckner, four sister-in-laws, plus spouses; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral service for Norma Lee will be on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 10:00am, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be in Cedar Bluff Cemetery in Fair Grove. Visitation will be on Thursday night, January 16, 2014, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
