Norma N. Snodgrass-Lakey finished her earthly duties on April 3, 2021 when she left this world and gained her heavenly wings. She left behind many who loved her and she loved fiercely until the end. She always reminded us “everything will be just fine.” She would say she was “fine and dandy” regardless of how much physical pain she was in.
Norma was born and raised in Mississippi she also lived in Texas and Missouri and she never knew a stranger. She worked at JCPenney for over 30 years and retired from the store in Texas.
She loved tending to her roses, especially red ones. She also enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and spending time with her family.
She had 7 biological children- 5 girls and 2 boys and many other “adopted” family. This large “adopted” family gave her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great -great grandchildren and she loved everyone unconditionally.
Curtis Lakey, her devoted husband, better known as “Papa,” proceeded her in death. He was a kind man who was always there for her and the family.
Norma was known by “Mama” “Grandma” and “Great Grandma” and “Great Great Grandma” will live on in our hearts forever. If you knew her, you were blessed.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
