Opal Gail Van De Mark went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the Arbors of Ravenwood, Springfield, Missouri.
Gail was born June 16, 1917 near Memphis, Missouri to Ora and Clara Minnick.
Gail Minnick married Ollen R. Springer in 1933 at Wyaconda, Missouri. They had two children Clarice Springer Carnes and Charles W. Springer. Ollen passed away in 1951. Gail later married Rev. Lynn W. Van De Mark. They pastored churches in Missouri, Texas and Kansas. He passed away in 1999.
Gail had one sister and two half brothers: Freda Minnick Oliver, Joe Minnick and Claude Minnick. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son Charles W. Springer.
She is survived by her daughter Clarice Carnes and husband Bill of Springfield. Her daughter-in-law Jeanette Springer of Dumas, Texas; stepchildren Roy Lynn Van De Mark and wife Carol Lee of Freeport, Illinois and Loann Van De Mark Beall of Wisconsin; grandchildren Dianne Carlstrom and Terry of Springfield, Debra Billingsley and Matt of Topeka, Kansas, Danna Reed and Randy of Willard, Bill Carnes, Jr. and Dana of Springfield, Jim Carnes and Vicki of Battlefield, Rodney Springer and Cheryl of Dumas, Texas, Roy Springer and Barbara and Roger Springer all of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren Emily Carlstrom, Andy Carlstrom, Megan Reed Stout and Joe, Wesley Reed, Alex Carnes, Christopher Carnes, Brett Carnes, Laura Springer, Ryan Springer, Glen Springer and Levi Springer.
Gail and Van were members of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Springfield since 1981.
The visitation will be held at Greenlawn South Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 7-8 pm.
The graveside service will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 am.
