Opal Mae Robertson, a beloved member of the Walnut Grove community, sadly passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 103, at Ash Grove Health Care facility in Ash Grove, MO. Opal was born on March 27, 1921, in Springfield, MO, to her loving mother Georgia Thomas. Opal married the love of her life, Glen E. Robertson, and had four amazing children: Glendella Stillings, Linda Tracy, Gary Robertson, and Bill Robertson. Opal found joy and purpose in her work as a seamstress in a local factory.
Opal was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her grieving daughter, Linda Tracy; son, Bill Robertson; and seven grandchildren: Jennifer Plane, Chris Robertson, Jason Roberston, Rick Tracy, Matt Tracy, Joshua Roberston, and Sarah Rogers. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Robertson; mother, Georgia Thomas; daughter, Glendella Stillings; son, Gary Robertson; and two grandchildren, Eddie and Rebecca Warner. Her dedication to her family and friends will always be remembered fondly.
Funeral services to honor Opal’s life will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on September 3, 2024, with a visitation starting at 2:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Opal’s vibrant spirit will take place at 3:00 PM, followed by her burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Opal touched many lives in her 103 years. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
In the wake of Opal’s passing, the community will come together to remember her kindness, strength, and unwavering love. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
