Oral G Wilson of Springfield Mo went home to be with his lord on January 15, 2024, at the age of eighty-four.
He was born on January 2, 1940, in Springfield Mo to Loyd and Ava Wilson.
Oral graduated from Nixa Highschool in 1957. He then began his career at Kraft and worked there for forty-one plus years. He married Judith Welch on May 22, 1959. This union was blessed with two children, Kirk and Terri. Oral became an ordained deacon at the age of twenty-two. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church and a man of unwavering faith.
Oral retired early and enjoyed working in his garden, caring for his animals, fishing, and attending the Lady Bear games.
Oral’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family to destinations across the US. Oral always had something up his sleeve on these vacations that are cherished memories by all. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he loved attending all their various sporting activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Infant brother Charles, Brother Lloyd Wilson Jr., Brother-in-law Steve Hale, and great nephew Bryan Kensinger.
Oral is survived by his loving wife Judith, son Kirk Wilson and wife Missy, daughter Terri Choate and husband Tom. Grandchildren Lindsay Choate-Raby and husband Thomas, Tyler Wilson and wife Rebecca, Chelsey Choate, and Haley Wilson. Great Grandchildren William Hart and Riley Jo Wilson. Siblings Ronnie Wilson and wife Brenda, Darlene Hale and husband Larry, Connie Hale, Dwight Wilson and wife Leetta, sisters-in-laws Sondra Wilson, and Patricia Welch, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and countless friends.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Greenlawn South in Springfield. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
