Mr. Orbert D. “OD” Scrivener age 83, of Belton, MO, formerly of Urbana, MO, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009, in the Beautiful Savior Nursing Home Belton, MO. He was born February 1, 1926, on the farm in Polk County, MO, to Earl and Ica (Emory) Scrivener. He is a US WWII Army Veteran. He was united in marriage July 8, 1946, Joanna Grace Renfrow and to this union five boys were born. He is a Master Mason of the Overland Park Lodge No. 436.
His parents; his wife of 61 years Joanna Grace; a son Orbert Dean Scrivener, Jr.; and a sister Iva Rosalie Dowell precede him in death.
He is survived by four sons: Donald Scrivener and wife Lana of Kansas City, MO, Glen Scrivener and fiancée Denea Stacey of Flemington, MO, Paul Scrivener and wife Pearl of Bolivar, MO, and Jesse Scrivener and wife Brenda of Platte City, MO; five brothers: Ova Scrivener of Blue Springs, MO, Olin Scrivener of Platte City, MO, Oliver Scrivener of Kansas City, MO, Otha Scrivener of Kansas City, MO, and Orland Robert Scrivener of Cabool, MO; 20 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Payne Cemetery, with Pastor James Ogan officiating. Visitation will held Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Pat Scrivener, Tyler Scrivener, Paul Scrivener, Jr., Kevin Scrivener, Kristopher Scrivener, Kory Scrivener, and Cody Scrivener.
