August 23, 1964-November 21, 2015
Pamela Jean Cantrell, age 51, was born on August 23, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois to Phillip and Veronica Swanson. Pamela passed away on November 21, 2015 in Springfield, Missouri.
Pamela attended grade school in Henderson, Nevada; Blackfoot, Idaho; and Graff, Missouri. She attended sixth through ninth grade in Green River, Wyoming. Pam graduated from Fulton High School in Missouri in 1982. Pamela had her own cleaning business while putting herself through college. Pamela attended college at Missouri State and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Communications, while raising her twin daughters, Sydney and Sonja, by herself. During this time she met her soulmate and best friend, Todd Cantrell in 1993.
Pam and Todd dated for several years before getting married on August 29th, 1997, shortly after they had their daughter Courtney during which they created a lovely life for their family.
Pam started working in the Insurance Industry for many different agencies. She was a Sales Manager at John Edwards Allstate office where she loved helping people with their insurance needs, and never met a stranger.
Pamela enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and mostly spending time with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a very intelligent person, constantly educating her family. She was always volunteering for her children’s and grandchildren’s school events. On the weekends, she was always busy with her grandbabies and daughters busy cooking up something yummy, playing on the floor with the kids, finger painting and giving everyone a hard time. The kitchen was her domain, she made it a point to always make sure everyone was stuffed and if you weren’t hungry, you ate anyways. She was a very giving person, frequently making sure that her friends and family’s needs were taken care of instead of her own. She loved to garden, mums were her favorite fall flower.
Pamela is survived by her husband Todd Cantrell, and her three daughters Sydney Warman, Sonja Pickett, and Courtney Cantrell, as well as her son-in-law’s, Ajia Warman, and Jason Pickett. Her siblings, Sheila, Jenine, Christine, Michael, Rick, Ron and John. And foremost her sweet grand babies Hylee Cruse-8, Tinsley Warman-3, and Tyson Pickett-1. As well as Pams’s many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A special thanks to the Cox South Staff & Nurses that took care of Pam and her family with many prayers, support and excellent care. We Celebrate Pam’s life Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 1:00pm at Greenlawn East Funeral Home.
Pam’s gift continues on in the life of others, as she was registered to be an Organ Donor. Her selflessness and love for others was a choice that was easy to make for her family.
