Patricia A. “Patty” Garrett 71, Springfield, Mo. went to heaven to join the love of her life on December 23, 2016. Born on August 19, 1945, in Maryville, Mo. to Vernie Lee and Euthel (Freeman) Smith. She and her husband owned and operated Garrett's Propane of Pleasant Hope, Mo. for many years. She was a member of Brookline Baptist Church,and she loved her church very much. After her husband's death, she spent a lot of her time volunteering, helping several charities.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee, and infant son, Lee Roy Garrett Jr. She is survived by her two sons; Lee Ray Garrett and his wife Monica and Mark Garrett and his wife Shellena, her four grandchildren, whom she loved very much; Ethan, Paige and Keaton Garrett, Kylee and husband Dylan Love. She was so proud of her grandkids and loved them with all her heart. Her #1 desire was to have her grandkids follow God in all they do. She is also survived by her siblings; Judy and DeWayne Ellis, Annie Scarlet, Janet Moses, Gerald and Sandy Smith, and Ella Mae Jackson, along with many nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Brookline, Mo. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Memorial donations may be made to Brookline Baptist Church.
