Patricia Ann (Frieze) Blackburn, of Springfield, MO, departed this life on Friday, February 20, 2026, in her home at the age of 91.
She was born on January 21, 1935, to Harold and Etta (Humbert) Frieze in Dade County, MO.
On August 7, 1960, Pat and Dave were united in marriage and shared 65 dedicated years together. Pat made a point of telling her husband Dave daily how grateful she was of his efforts that allowed her to continue to stay in their home.
Pat was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Homemaker. She also retired after 40 years of employment with the Springfield News Leader. Pat faithfully attended and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, and last attended Water Mill Church of Christ, where she enjoyed her time worshipping until her health prevented her attendance. She loved her friends from Church and continued to try to reach out to them after her health prevented her from leaving home.
Pat dearly loved her Grandchildren and spent many hours as an after-school caretaker and loved them as only a Grandmother could. She always enjoyed spending time with her Children and Grandchildren.
Patricia Ann Blackburn is survived by her husband Raymond David Blackburn; their two children, Lance Blackburn of Springfield; Dana (and Husband Jack) Shafferkoetter of Springfield; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and many family members and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Etta Frieze; as well as many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and friends that were always in her heart.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, MO, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, and/or the Alzheimer’s Association. They may be left with the funeral home.
