Patricia Ilene Jones, age 53, of Springfield, MO., passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 in St. John’s Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1957, in Springfield, Mo., to Richard and Jimmie (Candie) King.
Patricia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church. She served as an usher and enjoyed participating in fellowship dinners.
She attended Central High School and worked for Hudson Foods, Inc. for 5 years. She then was a homemaker that was actively involved in raising her children. She returned back to work at Kraft Foods, Inc. and worked for 10 years. She then joined her husband traveling over the road and was able to visit 48 states. She enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the United States.
Patricia enjoyed being a dedicated wife, loving mother and sister. She was a strong woman of God that had unshakable faith. She was always willing to open her heart and home for those that were in need. Patricia enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling, shopping, home interior, crocheting, ceramics, collecting brass, baking and nothing she loved more were her cats, TC and Pierre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jimmie (Candie) King; and brother, David King.
She is survived by her husband, Carey Jones, Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Cherry D. Jackson of Springfield and Sue Ann Jones of Springfield; sister, Sue Ann Wesley and husband, George of Springfield; sister in-law, Nina Jones of Houston, TX.; brother-in-laws, Cleophus Jones, Bobby Jones and wife, Bridgett and Murray Jones of Oakdale, LA; a special aunt, Nancy Barge; six additional aunts, one uncle; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and a special friend, Jane Pike.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Cheryll Doughty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
