Patricia Jean Meadows, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 82. She was born on November 11, 1943, in Lynwood, California, to Paul David Gillispie and Geneva Beatrice Freeman (Arnold). She was lovingly raised by Harold Baker Freeman and Geneva Beatrice Freeman, whom she loved dearly. To Harold, Patricia was his biological daughter. They had a special bond. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Geneva Freeman, and her brother, Billy Lee Freeman.

​Patricia’s life was illuminated by her unwavering love for her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Meadows, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a loving family that includes her children: Billy Grady, David Meadows, Gerald Grady (Lisa Grady), Angie Polodna (Robert Polodna), Wendy Meadows, and Diana Roser. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who will carry her spirit forward.

​Patricia dedicated over 29 years of her life to the Missouri Division of Employment Services, working tirelessly to help thousands of people find meaningful employment and build better lives.

​Patricia’s vibrant personality and compassionate heart drew many dear friends into her life, including her lifelong friends Janis Ward and Delores Peacock. She was known for her love of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior and was a devoted member of Grandview Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting with her best friend Joy Lockwood, appreciating the beauty of nature and birdwatching—especially her beloved orioles and hummingbirds. Her greatest joy was simply spending time surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

​A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to honor Patricia’s life and cherish the memories they hold dear.

​Patricia Jean Meadows leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. As we say goodbye, let us celebrate her remarkable life, surrounded by the beauty of nature that she cherished so dearly.
