Patricia L. Handley, age 78, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. She was born April 25, 1936, in Springfield, MO, to Herbert and Verna (Williams) Hance. She was a stay at home mom, and later worked as a clown for Balloonatix, and as a photographer for multilist and spent many hours volunteering for the Meals on Wheels. Pat enjoyed traveling, but especially she enjoyed the good times at the lake house and the Silver Bell neighbors and special lake neighbors Ron and Joan Howard, along with her Springfield neighbors on Warmwater Street, and she was also a organ donor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother who raised her; Bella Eaton “Nana” and her brother; Richard Hance. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Lowell Handley, two sons; Kelly Handley and his wife Cindy and Chris Handley and his wife Marsha and her grandchildren; Karlee, Dillon, and Evan Handley, a special sister-in-law; Rhea Beth Coleman, brother and sister-in-law; Dean and Sherry Hanley, a niece and nephew; Lynn and Alan Hance and a niece Linda Fox and her family, a sister-in-law; Judy Schumacher and her husband; Steve, a dear friend; Carol Camporeale and a close cousins; Marna and Art Harnagan, plus other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all of us, as she was the rock of our family. Memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. with memorial services to follow at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
