Patricia (Patty) North was born February 11, 1919, the middle of 3 girls to Kirk P. and Julia Guin in Sherman Texas. She entered into her heavenly rest Friday, February 2, 2024, at Mercy Hospital.

After graduating High School, Patty and her family relocated from Sherman to Springfield, where she attended Missouri State Teacher’s College. During college she was working at Citizens Bank, where she met Omer North. They were wed on August 2, 1943, and were happily married almost 60 years, when her beloved Omer passed away on June 25, 2002. Upon leaving the bank, Patty became a 1^st grade teacher at Strafford until her retirement in 1979. She loved to travel, loved her church family, and her church. Patty was baptized at the age of 12. She played the role of Elders wife with grace and poise at South National/ East Sunshine Church of Christ.

Patty is survived by her loving and devoted family. Her special grandchildren, Charissa and Shelly (Trenton); one granddaughter-in-law, Vanessa; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashley (Paul), Alyssa (Nick), Micayla (Neil), David (Aly), Tristan (Alyssa), Stephen, and Tricia (Makya); as well as 16 great-great- grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law, Debbie and Judy; 2 very special nephews, David (Patti) and Kirk (Julie); as well as lots of extended family and friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband; her 2 boys, Pete and Paul; her grandson, Aaron; her parents; and her two sisters.

A celebration on Patty’s life will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with burial at 1:00 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.

Memorial donations may be made in Patty’s name to Fair Haven Children’s Home.
