Patricia Mulcahy Seely, 77, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 in Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., with her family by her side. She was born on Nov. 4, 1933 in Rutland, Vt. She was the daughter of Thomas and Rachael Vincent. Patricia was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing, worked as an RN at Mercy Hospital and later as the Program Director of the Hillside Treatment Center in San Diego, Calif., and the Administrator of treatment at the Pomerado Sunrise Center in Rancho Bernardo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice M. Mulcahy, Jr.; her son, Timothy F. Mulcahy; and brother, Brian H. Vincent.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and shopping. In general, any activity that allowed “Patty” to be close to the people she loved made her happy. She was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and inspiration for her children and grandchildren and always will be. She was free-spirited and lived her life to the fullest, doing all the things that brought her joy. Sadly, her final year was tainted by complications from medical issues, yet, she fought every set back with courage and strength that was unique to her that will forever inspire all those who walked this heartbreaking final journey with her. She will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives she touched and brightened in her own Special way.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, John C. Seely, of Springfield, Mo.; daughter, Maureen E. Snow and husband Dale, of San Diego, Calif.; her sons, Kevin P. Mulcahy and wife Helene, of Springfield, Mass., and Daniel B. Mulcahy and wife Debbie, of Springfield, Mo.; daughter, Denise Morgan and husband Rick, of Van Buren, Mo.; son, Don Seely and wife Teri, of Van Buren, Mo.; and daughter, Debbie Scoggins and husband Jack, of Elk Grove, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, doantions may be made to the American Lung Association in her memory.
