Patricia “Pat” Ann Simmons, age 85, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on October 23, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She was a graduate of Springfield High School currently known as Central High School and a member of Crossways Baptist Church. Pat is proceeded in death by her parents H.E. and Earlea Adams; sons, Steven Paul and William Dean Simmons; sister and brother-in-law Richard and Nancy Rogers. She is survived by two grandchildren, Corey and Savannah Simmons; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Callea and Corbin Simmons; Nephew Randy Detherage (wife Greta) and close friends, Donna, Patty and Lucy.
These are a few favorite things of hers; a list for those who are already missing her.
Pat loved getting her hair and nails done, she loved Texas-Mexican food, and she really, really enjoyed sleeping in as she was a night owl. She was always up for a good sale, especially if it was in the shoe department at Dillard’s. Pat enjoyed working in her flower garden, spending time with her pets, and watching a good movie, especially if Frank Sinatra was singing in it. She always made sure that her jewelry matched her outfits. She enjoyed a good milkshake from Sonic, playing domino’s and eating a tomato right off the vine. Pat also enjoyed eating homemade angel food cake made by Aunt Ruth and later by her daughter, Gaynelle. She loved swimming in her sister’s backyard pool, harmonizing during sing along at church, and making flower arrangements. She loved making hair bows, enjoyed when spring arrived and also the beautiful colors of fall. She loved decorating for Christmas, everything was pretty in pink and boy did it glisten. Pat loved getting together for a great family meal at Thanksgiving, where she was always responsible for making the gravy. She loved going to T.J Maxx to see what kind of deals were out there. She loved butterflies, enjoyed her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Pat had the best heart and soul, she enjoyed life and now she is at home in heaven dancing with her family and friends.
When you get to do one of these many things that Pat loved please stop and think of her.
A graveside will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, November 14th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
