It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Lee “Patty” Wheeler, who departed this life on March 14, 2026, at the age of 68. Patty was born on August 6, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to a loving family that instilled in her values of kindness and determination.

Patty graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School, and her professional journey led her to a fulfilling career as an office manager first at AT&T and then later with Wheeler Auto. Her dedication to her work was rivaled only by her commitment to her family. On October 2, 1976, she married her beloved husband, Kirk Wheeler, and together they built a warm and loving home.

Patty is survived by her spouse, Kirk; daughter Brooke Rice and husband Devon; grandchildren Chloe Rousselot and husband Taylor,  and Clayton Rubottom; sister Janet Gipson; and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Quincy Rousselot; and many nieces and nephews. She cherished the time spent with her family, creating memories that will be held dear forever. Patricia also enjoyed the company of all her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenenth and Virginia Kohl; and one sister, Kathy Toler.

A celebration of Patty’s life will held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2-5 pm at Kirk and Patty’s house.

Patty’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those she touched.  She will be remembered for her contagious smile and laugh. Patty will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
