Patrick J. Stewart, 67, passed away April 10, 2026, at home in Nixa, MO, surrounded by his loving family and dear friend John Otterson. Patrick was born July 3, 1958, to Terrance W. Stewart and Therese A. (Cunningham) Stewart in Janesville, WI. He grew up in Madison, WI and graduated from Queen of Apostles High School in 1976. Patrick was united in marriage to Phyllis (Gibbs) Stewart on October 30, 1982, in Madison, WI.
Patrick was employed in the retail grocery business for many years in Madison and Missouri. After moving to Missouri, he eventually worked for Circuit City and Best Buy. His final and favorite position was as the Flight Operations Manager for the Premier Flight Center at the Springfield Branson Airport in Springfield, MO, before retiring in 2023.
Patrick spent his life in service to others through his participation in civic and fraternal organizations. He was a past board member of the Christian County Historical Commission. Patrick was a dedicated, longtime donor of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks apheresis and whole blood donations program. Over the past 27 years, he was a devoted member of the Masonic Order. Patrick was initiated into Friend Lodge #352 in Ozark, MO, in 1998. He served in leadership positions to include Worshipful Master and District Deputy Grand Master. Patrick joined the Scottish Rite, Valley of Joplin in 2009 and was conferred as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He continued to hold several leadership positions including Administrative Officer of the Scottish Rite for the Rite Care Charity, which partners with the Children’s Miracle Network to assist the families of hearing-impaired children to obtain medical devices and therapy. In October of 2023, Patrick was awarded and crowned the honorary title of 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Pat loved his Masonic Community and enjoyed working with his brothers in all their endeavors within the organization and the surrounding community. He strived to improve himself as a man, contribute to his community through service and guide other men in their pursuit of the same.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Helen Cunningham and John and Florence Stewart; his in-laws, Lester and Jean Gibbs; brother in-law, Ronald Gibbs; and sister in-law, Judith Gibbs. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Nixa, MO; his children, Stacy, nee Killerlain (Dean) Jenks of Ozark, MO; Daniel of St. Louis, MO; Kathleen Fawcett of Leeds, UK; granddaughters, Faith Jenks of Ozark, MO and Vaila Fawcett of Leeds, UK; grandson, Stewart Fawcett of Leeds, UK; his parents, Terrance and Therese Stewart; brothers, Michael (Angie) Stewart and Thomas Stewart; and sister Ann Stewart, all of Madison, WI; brother-in-law, Michael (Joye) Gibbs of Richland Center, WI; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Patrick may be best remembered as a “MacGyver” fixer of all things.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center in Ozark. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a special Celebration of Life service at the funeral home.
