On January 15, 2024 Patrick Samuel Hamisak passed away at the young age of 70. At six feet plus, Patrick Samuel Hamisak was a sweet little brother, a considerate husband, and a funny father and the uncle everyone wishes they had. This was all wrapped around a rare sense of humor expressed with a unique drawl, punctuated by an infectious laughter, and capped with a gentle smile that was the same at seventy as it was five.

These memorable traits became keener as he traveled through life. September 12, 1953 introduced him to the world in Girard, Kansas, the son of Lucy (Tersina) and Victor Hamisak, and brother to Carole Hartong (Boss Lady), Michael Hamisak and Virginia Hamisak (Sunshine). His early years were spent in Ringo, Kansas, and his school years in Ft. Scott.

He married Yawnna on April 21, 1979 after meeting her on the railroad where they dated in secrecy, only going public in time with their wedding invitation.

After some time working for the railroad (Frisco, then later Burlington Northern), he followed in his father’s footsteps as a “digger of big holes” as he referred to the preparation of the earth upon which houses would be built, many of which, in the Springfield area rest upon his precise and expert work (of all the old coots, this was the cootest).

He was proceeded in death by his daughter Melissa Ann, brother Michael and sister Carol.

He loved his family, shooting, reloading bullets, 4-wheeling, camping and creating things in his shop.

He is survived by his wife Yawnna Hamisak, his children Jason Hamisak, Laura Bricker and Jessica Hamisak; grandchildren David, Caroline, Joan Hamisak, Stephania, Jaden, McKenzie, Averianna and Charleigh Legrand and his sister Viginia Hamisak.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 pm Saturday January 20, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Interment will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.

Patrick never liked to wear suits. so the family request that everyone please dress casual.
