Paul Allen Davolt, 71, Springfield, Missouri, died on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011. Known for his friendly demeanor and outgoing personality, Paul was born on December 14th, 1939, in Tulare, Ca. He was the son of Orla and Alberta Davolt. He grew up on a farm west of Bolivar, where he attended Fair Play schools. Paul loved sports and often told stories to loved ones of his basketball “glory days” at Fair Play High School.
In 1975, he was united in marriage to Deborah Lyn Davolt. Paul was a devoted husband and father and loved attending sporting events for his children and grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Carl and Frank Davolt. He is survived by one brother, Jim Davolt and his wife, Sue; sisters, Patsy Fleeman and husband, Daryl; Joyce Williams and husband, Lewis; and Linda Brinkman and husband, Steve. Survivors also include his wife of 36 years, Deborah Lyn Davolt; sons, Sean Davolt and wife, Michelle; Grady Davolt and wife, Vicki; Michael Davolt and wife, Denise; and daughters, Wrendy Lyn Eske and husband, Brent; and Michelle Thornhill and husband, Bret. Paul is survived by his grandson, Hunter, in which he shared a very special bond, and his loving grandchildren, Ciara, Colby, Collin, Katie, Maddie, Mollie, Parker, Ty, Zaley, and Zoey.
Paul worked as an insurance agent for 30 years. In his later years, he enjoyed “coffee breaks” with good friends, long conversations with good neighbors, and family gatherings with good food. Paul was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 from 6-8PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 11AM on Friday, October 7th with graveside services following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
