Paul David Choate, 73, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 in St. John’s hospital. David was born April 15, 1936 to Douglas and Dora (Holsinger) Choate. He was born and raised in Springfield, Mo., where he graduated from Senior High School and attended Drury College before entering the United States Marine Corp. L/Cpl Choate served from 1958 to 1961. David married his high school sweetheart, Joena Rolufs on August 6, 1956. David and Joena were blessed with two daughters. David retired from Carlisle (Dayco) Rubber Company after 39 1/2 years. His hobby was playing golf. David was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ester Foster and Myrtle Priser. David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joena of the home; daughters, Kim Tidwell and husband, Johnny of Georgia, Delanae Lindstrom and husband, Bjorn of Washington State; grandchildren, Stephen and Stacey Crider and Eric Dawson; three brothers, Jim Choate and Margret, Jerry Choate and Mildred of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Lawrence Choate of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Tiki. Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 1 p.m. in Park Crest A/G. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Greenlawn South with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. David was a member of Park Crest Calvary Temple Assembly of God. His wife, children and immediate family were at his bedside for his home going to be with his Lord and Savior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Victory Mission, Springfield.
