Porter Ray Harrell, age 81, of Republic, MO, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, in his home. He was born July 4, 1929, in Mammoth Springs, AR, to William and Cordelia (Powell) Harrell. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Fischer August 12, 1955. He was a member of the Brookline Church of Christ. He is a US Navy Korean War Veteran. He was a retired manager for Pepsi Cola in Willow Springs, MO.
His parents; two brothers: Frank and Everett Harrell; and three sisters: Cora May King, Tressie Fare, and Ruth Deaton precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jacqueline Harrell of the home; one daughter Deb McGilvry and her husband Tim of Republic, MO; two grandsons: Sean and Scott McGilvry of Republic, MO; a sister-in-law Juanita Harrell of FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO with Hillard Story, Tony Gentry, and Cecil Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from One hour prior to services from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO.
