Rachel Beth Hosford peacefully entered the presence of our Lord in the early hours of July 19, 2026, following a long and brave battle with cancer. She passed away at home, surrounded by the deep love of her family.

Rachel considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment—they were truly her pride and joy. She was a deeply loving and devoted mother to Rebecca and Joseph, and her happiest memories were made watching them grow, spending time together, and taking them on adventures.

A graduate of Central High School Class of 1985, Rachel went on to earn her Associate’s Degree and RN certification from Cox College in Springfield, Missouri. She was immensely proud of her work as a Registered Nurse at Cox South Hospital for over 30 years. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Rachel thrived in the Critical Care Unit, where she began her journey as a nurse’s aide before working her way through nursing school. She will be remembered as a fiercely hardworking and dedicated nurse, as well as a compassionate mentor who guided countless young nurses starting out in their careers. Her lifetime of care left an incredible mark on her community and healing in the hearts of many.

Beyond her career, Rachel had a vibrant energy and a wonderfully generous spirit. Nothing brought her more joy than helping someone in need, regardless of who they were. She loved to travel, with some of her favorite moments spent relaxing on the beach with her family, cooking, and sharing good food with those she loved.

Rachel is survived by her son, Joseph Hosford of Springfield, MO; her daughter, Rebecca Lovett, and son-in-law, Austin Lovett, of Harrison, AR; and her four sisters: Delanah Gebhart of Tallahassee, FL, and Terri Rogers, Katy Rogers, and Carrie High all residents of Springfield, MO.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, James and Karen Rogers, and her brother, Elden Rogers.
