Randall Max Clark met his beloved Savior face to face on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Randy was born in St. Marys Iowa on October 9, 1948. His parents were Max Albert Clark and Maretta Elizabeth Matlage. Randy’s first birthday was celebrated during the move to San Diego in 1949, with his parents, his brother Kenneth Leo Clark and sister Shirley Diane Clark. In San Diego the family added brothers Allan Richard, Gary Lee, Daniel Joseph, and Ronald James. Randy is preceded in death by daughter Christie, parents Max & Maretta, brothers Kenneth, Gary, Ronald, and sister Shirley.

He started working at age 12, riding his bike on a large newspaper route. At age 14 he worked for Jacobs and Sons Neon Company. Since he wasn’t old enough to drive, he took the bus from Lemon Grove to Kearny Mesa. Randy graduated from Mount Miguel High School, class of 1966, in Spring Valley, California.

After a few years in college Randy enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves. After he was discharged, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union 369 and completed his apprenticeship. He proudly began his career as a commercial electrician, ending his career with Solar Turbines.

Randy loved baseball, especially Little League and the San Diego Padres! Randy was on the Lemon Grove Little League All-Star team for all 3 of his years in the majors. In high school he excelled in athletics and continued to play baseball for his high school. He lettered and in his senior year was awarded Baseball Player of the Year. After high school his passion for baseball continued and he played centerfield for several softball and baseball teams.

During his marriage to Carol Copeland they adopted Marshall Randall Clark, at age 5. One year later Christie Lee was adopted. The family grew again when Angela and Glen were adopted at ages 5 and 3. With his next wife, Joyce, the family added her daughter Kelly and then celebrated the birth of their son James Edward Clark. After the loss of his wife, he starting dating Vicki Turner, a fellow member at Casa De Oro Baptist Church where Randy served many years on the Deacon board and always put his electrician skills to work on maintenance days. He proposed while giving his testimony during the church’s Pentecost Sunday sermon and married her in that same church in 2005. Randy and Vicki moved to Fair Grove Missouri in 2012 where Randy returned to his farm roots and soon was happy on his tractor, learning how to bale hay and take care of horses. Randy was a member of Fruitland Road Church and loved serving in the nursery and as a worker in The Good News Club. He was part of a regular foursome that golfed in all kinds of weather – always having fun! In his last year he battled Parkinsons Disease and cancer but courageously made

memories by traveling to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY, spending time in Peoria AZ to watch his beloved Padres Spring Training. Randy also made his final road trip to San Diego where he watched his grandsons play baseball and soccer.

Randy is survived by wife Vicki, son Marshall (Sharina and their daughter Zara), daughter Angela (Kevin Greeny and his daughter Lauren), son Glen (Amy, Amy’s daughter Evie and their sons Nathan and Vincent), son James, daughter Kelly (Scot Wright and their sons Mac and Declan). Vicki’s daughter Kelly (Tim Sisco and their sons Cody and Austin (Presley and great-granddaughter Collins)) and son Kyle. Grandchildren Patricia and Christopher (Christie’s), Ken’s wife Maxine (children Kevin and Carrie), brother Allan (Silvana and their daughters Trina and Sondra), brother Danny (Lori and her daughters Kellie and Niki). Iowa cousins Mark Matlage (Jackie), Annette Yount (Bill), Susan Simms-Matlage, Brian Matlage (Julie), Carolyn (Mike Davitt) and numerous nephews and nieces.

Randy’s first love was the Lord, and he joined the La Mesa Camp of The Gideons International on March 25, 2010, where he faithfully served as distribution chairman. When he moved to Fair Grove Missouri, he joined the Springfield North camp where he came to serve once again as distribution chairman. Randy’s heart was sharing Jesus with everyone and anyone.
