Ray H. Robberson 59, passed away peacefully in his home after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. & Bonnie L. Robberson. Surviving family include sisters Cathy Smith (Bill), Sharon Bearden (Joel), nieces Michele Clyde, Cassie Wilson, nephew Billy Smith. He is also survived by his dear friend & companion Teresa McCormack.
After working several years in the oil fields of Oklahoma, Ray returned to Springfield to open a body shop for painting and restoring cars.
When you think of Ray, a smile always follows. His large personality filled any room. He loved to laugh. Ray had a mischievous twinkle in his eye, but he was a kind soul. He loved his pets & always had a cat near him. You could always find Ray at the lake or entertaining friends at his home. He loved to cook & grill. His BBQs were renowned & the highlight of the weekend for many. Ray loved music, guitars & vintage muscle cars.
There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20th, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Ray's life will be held at a later date, for all family & friends who were touched by him. Ray was beloved by many & will be deeply missed.
