Reba Joan (Tindle) Booker of Springfield made the journey to her heavenly home on October 5, 2026 after a long and blessed life of 89 years. Reba was born to Ed and Gulfa Tindle in Springfield on January 26, 1927. The Tindle family would grow to include a total of eight daughters.
She married Arlie Booker in 1951 and their marriage was blessed with one daughter. They made Springfield their lifelong home.
Reba had a great love for her family and for her savior, Jesus Christ. This love was evident in the way she lived out her faith and loved her family with an unfailing love. She was always faithful to show up when others needed her.
Reba also had a love for God’s four-legged creatures and would welcome any stray that came along and lovingly care for them. She even took a liking to a skunk that she fed faithfully and he stayed around for a while.
Reba loved to crochet and throughout the years had made afghans for many family members and loved ones. Just another way she shared her love and warmth to those she loved.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, LaVada Ann and Larry Goehring, of Springfield. Two grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Goehring and 2 great-grandsons, LeVon and Kegan Goehring.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and her seven Tindle sisters Lucille Smith, Audrey Simmons, Eldora Rook, Betty Wilson, Roselee Clement, Patricia Stewart, and Martha Young.
Reba was the last surviving sister of this special family of eight girls.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 9 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3506 N. National, Springfield at 1:00 pm, with a graveside service following at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery.
