Rebecca Ruth Prater was born to Harold (Pete) and Winifred (Winnie Choate) Mayfield on March 20, 1942 and departed this life on February 1, 2024. At age of 16, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and tried to live accordingly the rest of her days. On July 31, 1959, she was united in marriage to her devoted and loving husband, Benny Prater. For 64 years and and six months they remained inseparable until she stepped into the presence of the Lord.
To this union two daughters were born. Janet (Don) Reeves, and Lisha (Mark) Seery. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren (2 more on the way), and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and her brother Randy Mayfield.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; Pete and Winnie Mayfield, her mother and father-in-law: Max and Mildred Prater, her brothers: Terry Mayfield and Steve Mayfield, sister-in-law: Naomi Bruning and grandson, Brandon Reeves.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Rock Prairie cemetery, near Pleasant Hope, MO.
