Rebecca S. Bonnarens (Southwick), 68, went to her eternal home on April 30th, 2021, after a long illness. She was born August 11th, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri to Byron and Barbara Southwick. She grew up in Springfield and graduated from Parkview High School. Becky served as the Clinic Coordinator of OACAC family planning for over 30 years and was fond of her co – workers and enjoyed helping the community.
She married Mike Bonnarens on April 9th, 1982 and they were happily married for 39 years. Becky loved the outdoors. She enjoyed working in her garden, going on long walks and of course spending time with her grandchildren.
Becky was a lifelong member of Second Baptist church in Springfield, Missouri and came to know the Lord at a very young age. She sang in the Second Baptist choir for over 30 years and was grateful for the friends that she made in the choir and in her Sunday school class.
Becky will be remembered for her fierce independence, unwavering and unconditional love and her beautiful smile. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Barbara Southwick, her brother in – law Brad Davis and her beloved son Ryan Bonnarens. She was survived by her husband Mike Bonnarens, her daughter Lora (Hayter) Turnage and her husband Dwane, her son Justin Bonnarens and his wife Nicole as well as her four Grandchildren Griffin Turnage, Kate Turnage, Parker Bonnarens and Isabella Bonnarens. She is also survived by her father Byron Southwick, her sister Brenda (Southwick) Davis, sister Beth (Southwick) Morgan, brother Brad Southwick as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.
The family would like to say a special, “thank you” for the extremely kind and high level of care that Becky received during the last year from Hopedale Cottage in Ozark, Missouri
Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 5th at 11:00am, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, Missouri. Friends may visit the family prior to the service starting at 10:00am. The internment service will be at Shiloh cemetery in Strafford, Missouri.
