Reuben Thomas Davidson, age 95, of Springfield, M0, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in his home. He was born July 13, 1916, in Brashear, MO, to Elmer and Alice (Doherty) Davidson. He served in the U.S. United States Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict, where he received the WW II Victory medal, Army of Occupation medal, Good conduct medal, Legion of Merit, and two Bronze stars for the Rhineland and Tunisian Campaigns. The Armed Forces Radio Network in Germany employed Reuben for thirty five years. Reuben enjoyed photography, and being a Ham radio operator. His greatest love was to play the piano, guitar, and accordian.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bertha Susan Davidson; his parents, Elmer Ellsworth and Alice Davidson. He is survived by two daughters Susan Alice Gomez and husband Leonel, Springfield, MO,Donna Jeanine Jackson and husband Charles , Strafford, MO, one sister Mar’lyn Cowan of Springfield, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.Burial will be held in Danforth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Springfield Humane Society, or the Spay and Neuter clinic of Springfield.
